The origin
Why STERK exists
The Faroe Islands have a construction boom and 1% unemployment. That means fierce competition for workers — and a lot of shortcuts that hurt everyone.
Workers arrive to find housing that wasn't inspected, paperwork that wasn't filed, and pay that wasn't what they expected. They leave. Projects stall. Everyone loses.
STERK was founded in 2023 to fix this. Our philosophy comes from competitive rowing: teams only succeed when every member is cared for. The same applies to construction crews.

We call it the "Broken Window Theory" of staffing. Small friction — a cold apartment, an unclear contract, a late payment — compounds into turnover.
Most agencies focus on placing workers. We focus on keeping them. We inspect every housing unit. We file every paper before arrival. We pay on time, every time.
The result: crews that stay for the full project. Projects that finish on schedule.

STERK operates a quality management system (QMS) already adapted to the upcoming ISO 9001:2026 revised edition — based on the draft standard as of February 2026. Our QMS is integrated into every part of our platform and daily operations, and we are working toward external certification by an accredited auditor once the standard is finalized.
Our QMS is not a paper exercise — it's built into how we recruit, house, pay, and support every worker and client.
