About the position
Earthworks and excavator operator in an small Earthworks/excavator team of 3–4 people, working on various projects on the Faroese mainland (usually about two weeks per project), mostly on new builds.
Main tasks:
- Operating excavators from about 1 to 30 tonnes.
- Digging and moving rock and fill material.
- Laying sewer and other pipelines.
- Building site roads and other earthworks and civil works.
- General ground work outside the machine; the split between machine work and manual work varies from project to project.
Working both as part of the team and independently. Driving between the project sites.
The work is carried out under the client's foreman, following the site's safety rules and STERK's staff handbook. Tasks may vary with the progress of the projects.
Requirements
- We are looking for 1 qualified Earthwork & Sewer Piping Specialist
- Minimum 4 years of proven, relevant trade experience
- Communicative English or a Scandinavian language
- Experience with pipe laying and drainage systems
- Valid EU/EEA passport
- Clean criminal record certificate required
- Driver's license category B; category C/CE preferred
